Sharon Loughran Brown, M. Ed.
Sharon Loughran Brown, a lifetime educator, is proud and blessed to be named the Regional Administrator of the South Regional Catholic Elementary Schools.
Sharon is a product of Catholic education from first grade through graduate school. Her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education is from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA and her M. Ed in Educational Leadership is from Carlow University. She began her teaching career in the Diocese of Pittsburgh over 30 years ago. She has taught at all grade levels and also spent time teaching in the Dioceses of Greensburg and Erie. Sharon served as the principal of Madonna Catholic Regional School, Our Lady of Grace School and co-principal of St. Bernard School in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Brown is also a mother of three and currently a grandmother of two. The Brown family are members of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela.
Carlos Leyva III, MBA
Regional Business Manager
Carlos Leyva III is proud and blessed to be named the Regional Business Manager of the South Regional Catholic Elementary Schools.
Carlos grew up in Porterville, California, where his family is active in parish life, youth group, and primary education. After high school, Carlos attended Franciscan University of Steubenville and obtained his undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology and his Master in Business Administration. During this time, Carlos met his wife, Danielle Leyva, who is enjoying teaching religion at North Catholic.
After serving the Steubenville mental health community, Carlos and his wife moved back to California to be near family. After three short years, the desire to move back East prevailed, and the Leyva family settled down in Pittsburgh in March 2020.
Carlos' work history includes Payee Case Manager, Mortgage Lending, Operations Specialist, Lead Marketer for Catholic Parishes, Stewardship Consultant, and Adjunct Professor teaching business classes.
Carlos and Danielle are expecting their first child coming March 2021
